Aralia Garden Design has been shortlisted for the Principal Landscape Design excellence award by BALI (British Association of Landscape Industries) for a period garden in Hertfordshire ‘Little Eden’. This rural property plays host to a Grade II listed house and a separate period outbuilding which have both had various architectural additions over the century, resulting in the creation of a narrow, empty corridor; prompting the need for an external re-design. The challenge for Aralia in this design was to unify the two opposing buildings and overcome the difficulties posed by numerous access points, all in the space of a small courtyard of less than two hundred square meters.
‘It has been a wonderful project to be involved with, the property is quite prominently featured within the centre of a beautiful country village’ says Patricia Fox ‘and it is lovely to see how now the entrance to this garden has changed and significantly improved the whole ambient entrance to the property’.
