Nicola re trained as a Garden Designer, after having originally trained as an Architect, spending over 12 years in the residential and commercial sectors.Nicola has had a lifelong passion for plants and this is what let her to re-train at Writtle School of Design, so that she could combine her passion for plants into her working week. The invaluable experience that she has gained whilst working on large London based projects as an architect, has allowed her to develop a keen eye for detail. Nicola is very focused on ensuring the right plant for the right place and uses this mantra to inform her landscape designs, and this together with her technical Architectural background has allowed Nicola to develop her landscape design skills in a unique way.
On a personal level, she ‘grows her own’ and spends a lot of time developing plants from seed. Nicola constantly visits public gardens to observe planting combinations and learn more about how design is used to create both intimate spaces and broader landscapes.
Assistant Landscape Designer
Student Landscape Engineer from Agrocampus Ouest Angers
Alexia’s interest in landscape design and love for nature has led her to enter the French Landscape and Horticulture Engineer school, Agrocampus Ouest in Angers. There she was able to learn about landscape planning, ecology and plants biology. In order to improve her knowledge in landscape and especially garden design she has been following her three internships in foreign countries (United Kingdom and Thailand). She considers that working abroad is an excellent way to discover other ways of designing and also to introduce herself to other ways of thinking. This also allows Aralia to benefit from an international perspective.
