The clients of this country estate approached Aralia with a primary requirement for us to soften the angular lines of their new build barn, with soft contemporary planting, in order to nestle the bold architecture of the barn into their country garden. The brief was also to take their currently open garden and to divide it into smaller more intimate garden spaces, allowing a series of garden rooms, whilst still retaining the beautiful views across into the wider landscape. Aralia created a garden bursting with bold colours, injecting colourful contemporary planting to brighten the country garden and contrast against the client’s dark property. In order to separate the garden into individual areas, Aralia incorporated elements that would work provide partial screening, such as topiary, boxed hedging and a classical wooden pergola. All of these elements combined to create a country garden which would provide the clients with a sense of intimacy, whilst still achieving that open, soft and airy feeling that was desired.
Aralia provided a full Design & Build service for this landscape project, working alongside the client’s gardeners, taking the project from concept through to full implementation of the whole masterplan.
