What is a Traditional Garden? This expression probably covers the vast majority of gardens in the UK. Traditional Gardens, as we define them, will normally comprise the following key elements: Lawn/Border/Patio/Hedging as their main constituent parts, in varying percentages of space. That is not to say that Traditional Garden Design needs to be boring – it doesn’t. Some of the most admired historical gardens, such as Sissinghurst or Clivedon, we would classify as Traditional, but both are truly breathtakingly beautiful. We are more than happy to work with clients on a total re-design for
a Traditional Garden or even perhaps take a brief for a garden which
is already part developed, mature or otherwise, but for which the space
needs ‘redefining’ and ‘beautifying’ as such.
The introduction of a traditional garden can provide a sense of maturity
to New Builds, it can offer a redefinition of space after an extension,
or it can simply offer an alternative to an existing garden that you
just don’t like. |
