We have such fun with designing family gardens. The challenge is in designing space which can work extremely well both now, with a young family romping around, but also in the future by considering how the garden could develop and evolve as the family grows up.
Safety is always foremost in our thoughts when working on a family garden design, but we also like to get in as much fun as possible into the garden space – children have an amazing zest for life, and we try to ensure that the gardens we design, deliver them somewhere that can offer them adventure & mystery. Never forgetting that you need your space too, we work hard to ensure that the grown ups have somewhere relatively sophisticated to sit and relax, somewhere quiet to read a book or to entertain with friends & family.
Some of the features which work extremely well within a family garden include:
  • Play areas with soft landings (play bark or rubberised surfaces)
  • Wooden Play Equipment such as Forts or Trains
  • Trampolines – either above ground or sunken beneath ground
  • Large ‘Football Lawns’ – or as large as the garden will afford
  • Herb or Vegetable gardens – children just love helping…..
